A very Busy Week! Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was busy! My daughter came into town mid week to join me for marathon wedding planning meetings. It’s exhausting and a tad overwhelming! Here is a peek into my week.

Weekly Run Down

Sunday-airport walk + fly home

We did walk to breakfast downtown before heading to the airport. There I did my usual airport walk with Peloton in my ear. Clearing customs and immigration on the Canadian side of the border makes returning home a breeze and having global entry it was all facial recognition. Easy peasy!

Monday-power walk + 45 min legs and core strength + afternoon walk

Let’s do this Monday! Happy To be back in my own bed again! I woke up really excited to start week 2 of my strength program with Peloton’s Andy. I upped some of my weights from last week and it was tough in a good way. It was nice to catch up with a friend on our 3 mile walk and later I got in another mile on my own.

weekly run down

Tuesday-morning power walk + chest and tri strength + core + evening walk

Day 2 of my strength program had me doing serious amounts of push ups! I also loved a new to me tricep exercise, Tate Presses. They are kind of a cross between a chest press and a skull crusher. Then I met a friend for a power walk. Later, I got in another evening walk while waiting for my husband to get home.

weekly run down

Wednesday-45 min back and biceps + wedding appointments!

Wedding planning is a marathon not a sprint! My daughter is in town for 2 full days of wedding planning and appointments. We left the house at 9 and returned at 6 for a full day of invitations, catering and floral meetings. Whew! I was exhausted but also determined not to miss my scheduled workout with Andy and finally got it in at 8:30. I was not able to get in my 12K steps today unfortunately.

Thursday-shoulders & triceps strength + afternoon walk

It was another marathon day of wedding appointments! We met with another caterer and the hotel where we are having our wedding. I did get in my day 4 of my strength program and a nice late afternoon walk.

weekly run down

Friday-multiple walks + full body strength

whew made to Friday! I got in day 5 of my strength program with a nice little finisher of 5 sets of 10 pushups. Right afterwards, I headed over to my son’s apartment to help him move out. It goes without saying that my arms and chest are pretty shot!

weekly run down

Saturday-planned rest day!

It has been a very busy week and I was wiped! I had a great deep tissue massage today and the hubs and I actually went to a movie theater for date night to see the Downton Abbey movie. Perfect end to a hectic week.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

What a week! Having two sons I have no idea what all goes into planning a wedding, but I can tell it’s a lot! Good for you to continuing to get your Peloton Andy workouts in despite the business of the week. Hopefully this week will be less hectic for you.

All that planning and then…it’s over! It will be worth it, though. Our wedding last night was an amazing event. My Oura ring is sure mad at me today, lol! But hey, life’s too short not to have fun, am I right?

Some good work there being done despite the wedding planning and things in between. Wedding planning is like full time work! That Tate press looks interesting! I looked it up, don’t think I’ve heard about it before.

funny I was thinking about you when I was doing them! I feel like I know you…try it and tell me what you think

I think I’ll have to wait until my upper arm feels happier but definitely later! Could be a nice exercise for at-home workouts.

          I think so!

I’m glad the wedding planning is coming together. I guess your son’s move is local?

Tate presses are good. I pretty much like any exercise I can do on my back!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/14/2025 at 9:06 am

ha yes doing them on our back always feels like I am hitting the right spot and not tweaking my back. Yes, my son is moving to Gtown

How exciting!!! I absolutely cannot wait to hear all about the wedding and see photos- I’m sure everything will be beautiful.
Nice job getting those workouts in- working out later in the day is always hard for me. You have to be VERY motivated! Glad you had a rest day yesterday.

Our wedding is not until April so long way to go! Yes it is hard for me to workout at night. I did not want to do it but so glad that I did

That was a busy week! Great job keeping Andy’s program going strong. That reminds me, I really need to get back to my daily pushups…not sure when that tapered off, but it needs a restart, LOL.

Going through customs from Mexico was also super simple with our Global Entry. Facial recognition is great! I remember when we used to fill out all of the paper forms on the airplane and it took forever to go through it all. What a big upgrade to the process!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/15/2025 at 1:08 pm

yes it is so much easier now!
