Happy New Friends! I’m coasting into the new year instead of sprinting but that still counts. Thanks for joining me and Kim for the first weekly run down of 2025.

Coasting into 2025

Sunday-upper body strength and core

We had a late night return flight home last night. I was so ready to get my heavy weights back! While I had an empty fridge and a pile of laundry, I was ready to pump some iron. I was not ready for photos lol.

Monday- total body strength + power walk

For some reason, I thought it was a good idea to torture myself with one of the hardest style of Peloton classes. Andy’s 60 min total strength was non stop and I will for sure feel that tomorrow. It was too warm and nice not to duck out for a walk.

Tuesday-3.5 mile run/walk + Pilates and core

Why yes I did wake up super sore (in a good way) from yesterday’s workout. After almost 3 weeks of not running, today was challenging with lots of walks but that’s okay. It was a gorgeous and unusually warm day that I was not going to miss. But good to be back with the group!

Wednesday -3 mile power walk + upper body strength + stretch

Happy New year! I was surprised that my lower body was still so sore! I opted for a very windy and chilly power walk this morning followed by a tough upper body strength class. Not one to shy away from a peloton challenge, I am hopping into Hannah’s stretching/foam roll class daily. My body always appreciates a daily stretch. I’m coasting right into 2025.

Thursday -4 mile run/walk + stretch + core

It’s always great to get back to my runs with my squad even if I cannot really keep up at the moment. Later, I met my mom at the mall which was a good way to escape the wind.We are definitely back in winter! Later, I met my mom at the mall to run some errands.

Friday-Power walk + upper & lower body strength + Pvolve core

I feel like I am getting back to my regular schedule finally! After a morning workout, I met a friend for an afternoon walk. We got caught in a thunder snow squall which was very odd. We later found out that the Washington Monument was hit by lightening.

Saturday – rest day with stretch and foam roll

I had my husband home so we took advantage of running a bunch of errands together and then meeting my parents for lunch.

We are expecting 8 inches of snow tonight which is a lot for us. The DC area does not handle this well LOL.

Nice job easing back into the real world! It is always hard coming home from a great vaca, but it helps to have a routine to get back to. It doesn’t look like you missed a beat!

Enjoy that snow! The big storm hitting the midwest is going to miss us.

We don’t handle snow so well here so it will be a lot of indoor workouts this week

You really did jump back into the fire with Andy — great going!

The change in weather from last Sunday to today is dramatic! I do hope we get some snow although that will mean walking and running outside will be dicey until it all melts away.

I think it’s going to be a rough week for outdoor exercise!

Wow, good luck with all the snow coming in! We got snow New Years Day and it hasn’t stopped, ugh. But at least my city is somewhat used to it! Nice job getting back at it after your (active!) vacation.

That thunder squall was wild. I was in Leesburg and the snow was coming down hard. Oh wow, I hadn’t heard that the Washington Monument was hit by lightning.

Sounds like you’re getting back into the swing of things post-vacation!

Whoa- that is a lot of snow! Luckily you have a lot of indoor workout options. Sounds like you had a great week- it is hard cmoing back from vacation and getting back into routines, but you’re nailing it.
What is this thunder snow squall??? I’ve never heard of such a thing!
