Why Do A Destination Race + Craft Classic Race Entry Giveaway

Some of the best race memories I have have been Destination Races. My first half marathon was run through the streets of Annapolis, Maryland and in case you missed all of my insta posts last weekend, my team just completed a relay race through the Gettysburg area.

What makes destination races so appealing?

I love to explore a new city on foot and running a race is the best way to check out the highlights of a city (without getting lost!). A destination race is a great way to escape for a girls/guys or couples weekend. Even though you will be running, it still feels like a vacation. Sold yet?

Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K

I’ve teamed up with Road Runner Sports to highlight their new Craft Classic half marathon and 5k races. There are 3 great race destinations to choose from: San Diego ( July 17th) , Atlanta (Sept. 10th) and Phoenix (Oct. 16th). All of the races benefit Team RWB, a national organization that serves our military by enriching the lives of veterans with social and physical activities.

What makes the Craft Classic Half Marathon and 5k Races so unique? Race Perks!  Every runner will receive: a race shirt, Knockaround sunglasses, commemorative pint glass, finishers medal, free beer, free race photos, live athlete tracking, age group awards, overall awards, team awards, and the half marathon winners will WIN THEIR WEIGHT IN BEER!  Every race location will have a special beer release in conjunction with the race. Each city will also have fun training runs leading up to the races. You can check their Facebook page for updates on local events.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I would probably choose San Diego, since it’s close, but I’m probably going to be in Phoenix for a class October 10-15, so that race might be a natural.

I’d choose Phoenix — except all of those locations are hot at those times of years! Except maybe San Diego, which is never really hot.

You know I love me a racecation (actually presently considering a race in AZ that weekend!).

I’ve never done a destination race. Out of those 3, I’d pick San Diego. Actually this week I was talking to my hubby and mentioned to him how I can’t wait when our daughter grows up a bit and I’d like to go to Disney and do a race there!
