February 2026 Ultimate Coffee Date
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
I found a new (to me) free `app that I am totally obsessed with called YUKA. It is a nutrition app that scans a food and gives an unbiased rated based on ingredients, sodium, additives, etc and gives you a rating 1-100. Then it will give you other brands to consider. It has really helped me evaluate some of my favorite foods in a more in depth way.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
I would also tell you that I have made a concerted effort to remove processed foods from my diet. This is not easy at all! For a long time, I ate veggie based breakfast sausages and veggie burgers to bump up the protein. I’ve given those up too as I’ve decided they just can’t be good.
Because of this, as the above mentioned app, I’ve been having a hard time finding a granola that meets my requirements. So, I decided to make my own. It turned out way better than expected. I will share the recipe soon.
That’s about all I’ve got share over coffee this February 2026. If we were having coffee what would you tell me?

Cutting out processed foods is no easy task! I do the best I can, but I know I still have room for improvement. Your granola looks delicious!
It is not easy at all! I’ve made a ton of progress but lots to go
Ooh, I’m looking forward to your granola recipe! I’ve trued (a few years ago, but my results weren’t stellar…
It takes some tweaking for sure
Thanks for the app recommendation! It looks easy to use and much better than my current system (reading the ingredients and guessing).
Good move on ditching the artificial veggie-based items… you are right, they’re so highly processed, it just can’t be good.
Reading the ingredients is still good but not always easy. If I don’t see real food listed, I don’t buy it
I haven’t heard of YUKA, but may look into getting it just to see… I want to cut out more processed foods/sugar + also to finally start cooking regularly again! (I can’t believe I used to have a food blog, hahah. :'( Maybe this is the year I’ll finally get back to it!?)
I do remember you posting lots of recipes!
I try really hard not to eat processed foods, and most of the time, I do well! I never considered granola as processed, lol, but would love to try my hand at making my own. I don’t eat it often, but when I have chia pudding, I like it as a topping. I will look into the Yuka app to help me further clean up my diet!
I like a sprinkle of granola on my yogurt for a little crunch and consistency. It is so hard not to eat processed foods
My husband uses an app similar to that. Maybe it’s YUKA?? I’m sure the stats are eye opening. Since surgery my body has been craving things like oranges, berries, Greek yogurt, homemade soups and lots of water and of course sleep. I’m listening closely. I’ll bet it knows what it needs for the healing process.
Nice job on the granola!
It is amazing how bad some of the foods on the shelves are!
What??? Goldfish crackers aren’t good for you? Just kidding. That app sounds excellent. I’ve heard of it before. And it’s free? I’ll have to try it!
Oh I like the sounds of that app – thanks for sharing! It is challenging to remove all processed foods so good on you!
Check it out I like it!
Interesting! I’ll have to check that out. I know even “better for you” processed foods are still not always great – even the ones with good nutrition claims.
That is very true!
Glad you found something so helpful! Can’t wait to see your granola recipe.
I need to write that up to share
My friend told me about the Yuka app but I’ve never tried it – I’m glad that it’s working well for you. I know there is so much concern lately about processed foods, it can really overwhelming. I’ll have to look out for your homemade granola recipe. Thanks for hosting us!
It is overwhelming! WE can only do our best
