Five Dream Places to Run

I’m linking up the fabulous #FridayFive again today

How much fun is this!?
How much fun is this!?

My amazing hosts (Courtney, Cynthia and Mar ) are bringing it again today with “5 Places I’d Love To Run”

So hard to choose just 5!

Looks so quaint
Looks so quaint
Think there might be some hills in Stowe
Think there might be some hills in Stowe

1. Stowe, Vermont– I’m going to Stowe next month to visit my old college room mate for the weekend. I am beyond excited to hang out for a girls weekend without hubbies or kids. She has been telling me how beautiful Stowe is in the summer and I can’t wait to find out. She has all kinds of runs and hikes planned for us. We got into tons of trouble in college so whatever happens in Stowe..stays in Stowe. Stay tuned for an update late June.

2. Napa Valley, Ca–

I’ve been to Napa twice before but have never had the opportunity to run there. I remember the temps being a gorgeous 60’s with low humidity. It’s an idyllic setting year round but particularly gorgeous in the spring. I’d love to do the Zooma half marathon there next June. My husband is a big wine guy so that’s probably an easy sell. He doesn’t know I’m already planning that one.

3. Santorini, Greece

Our whole extended family was in Santorini two summers ago. The crystal blue waters are indescribable and the white washed houses with blue accents are breathtaking. We had a one day stop over on a cruise and I never got the chance to run there. I hoofed it up this path to the city atop the hill as I was too afraid to ride the donkeys. My kids rode them up and loved every minute of it. I’d love to go back and run up this windy road to the quaint little town up top. The views are unparallelled.

4. Maui, HI

We plan to go to Hawaii for our 20th Wedding Anniversary next summer. We spent our honeymoon in Maui before I was a runner. I can’t wait to go back next year and run along the paths on the beach. I’m picturing Hula dancers and Ukulele players as I run by and maybe someone to hand me a nice cold pineapple drink when I’m done. A girl’s gotta dream big right?

5. Singapore

I had the opportunity to accompany my husband on a business trip to Singapore last summer. It was such a vibrant, modern city with gorgeous state of the art buildings like nothing I have ever seen. I actually did run here and it was amazing! I ran through a beautiful orchid garden behind The Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The flowers that grow there are more beautiful than anything I have ever seen in The States. It’s one of the times on a run where I felt I could just run and lose myself in the beautiful surroundings. I’d love the opportunity to go back someday and run there again this time stopping to smell the flowers.

I also got to attend a cool party where I met Manny Pacquaio before one of his big fights

And I got to hold his belt -it's a lot heavier than it looks!

Did I miss anywhere amazing?

I would pick Hawaii for sure! Too bad when we visit there won’t be an organized race going on, but i’ll still be sure to run on my own. That counts, right?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/23/2014 at 12:25 pm

Oh yeah still counts. Sometimes it’s even better bc it’s more relaxing. I was having trouble commenting on your page earlier will try again.

I really hope to make London my marathon when I am in around 2:30 shape, it would be incredible to have my family and friends from home watch! I also want to run in Hayward Field….cause as a runner, that is just a must!

Wow you met Manny? He is a very good fighter. You got my attention with Napa Valley (wine country) and Maui. I went there for a honeymoon and actually did run along the coast line. LOVED IT.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/24/2014 at 2:05 am

I did meet Manny he is surprisingly small. I went to Maui on my honeymoon 19 years ago before I was a runner. Hubby says we’re going back next year for our 20th. I can’t wait to run there! It looks amazing.

  18. GiGi Eats says

    05/24/2014 at 2:57 am

OOOO GREECE! I want to RUNNNN THERE!! 🙂 Yes, yes I DO! I want to RUN TO A DELICIOUS SEAFOOD DINNER!!! h ha ha ah!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/24/2014 at 11:13 am

You always make me laugh Gigi! I hope we both get to go run in Greece sometime soon. Have a great weekend!

  19. Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says

    05/24/2014 at 12:58 pm

I love your choices, especially Napa and Maui! We went to Napa and Sonoma for our 1st wedding anniversary back in 2012 and loved it. Of course, this was before I was a runner, but I can’t imagine anything more beautiful than running a race among the vineyards! We also went to Maui for our honeymoon and I can’t wait to return to Hawaii to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The Kauai Half Marathon is on my bucket list. I just wish it weren’t over Labor Day weekend since it’ll be a bit difficult to get there given that its right at the start of the school year. Someday though!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/24/2014 at 1:28 pm

I can’t wait to go back to Hawaii either. It will be hard to coordinate a race so will have to settle for the run along the beach path. The Napa Zooma race is definitely on my bucket list. Have a great weekend!

  20. Momshomerun says

    05/24/2014 at 5:12 pm

Great list I must say. I especially liked the picture with those strange kind of trees!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/25/2014 at 1:24 am

They were like nothing I had ever seen! Very cool to run by. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Have a great day!

  21. Cynthia @ You Signed Up For WHAT?! says

    05/24/2014 at 7:17 pm

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/25/2014 at 1:22 am

That was the idea!! Hope we both get to some of them soon.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/28/2014 at 6:13 pm

Oh my gosh, these all look so amazing!! I’m looking to do the half at Zion National Park next March. It looks absolutely beautiful! I’ve been to all the parks surrounding it, but not that one. I love the idea of running in beautiful places with beautiful scenery! And anywhere along the beach is perfect. I definitely want to run through Napa, too! 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/28/2014 at 10:29 pm

Maybe we will both have to run Zooma Napa next year together!
