Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I have shared a few of my favorite things and there are so many random things I am loving right now. The sunshine, flowers and warmer weather just make me so happy. Here are just a few of my Friday Favorites Spring Edition.

Friday Favorites Spring Edition

New spring sandals! A girl cannot live in running shoes alone (or can she?). I am loving these new sling back espadrilles wedges with a just enough of a platform to feel super comfy on my feet. I am thinking of getting another pair but can’t decide on the color. Serious problem for sure 🙂 Find them at Nordstrom.

Friday Favorites Spring Edition

My new bike helmet has a ponytail port! How genius is that? No more shoving my ponytail inside when it can happily bounce freely. Ah the little things that make you smile. Find one for yourself from Specialized.

Friday Favorites Spring Edition

And speaking of biking, I have been experimenting with different fueling options on longer rides. I found these new (I think) GU Energy StroopWafels. Anytime someone wants to call cookies “fuel” I am in! I’ve had the salted caramel, caramel coffee and the wild berries and they are delish. They have 140 calories, 75 mg of sodium and 20 mg caffeine. Perfect for a little mid run or bike pick me up without upsetting my stomach. They are GF as well. Find them on Amazon.

Friday Favorites Spring Edition

Weekly flowers! I took a cue from Marcia and bought myself some beautiful flowers last week. I love her idea to pick up some each week. Having pretty flowers on my table just makes me smile. I will be picking some more up today.

Friday Favorites Spring Break Edition

A few of my favorite things-What are you loving lately?

Last but certainly not least, my new “Bounty From the Box” cookbook. Perfect for spring and farmer’s market shopping and a great mother’s day gift. This fabulous 600+ page cookbook is designed around the idea of eating seasonally. Each season has it’s own section to guide you through selecting and preparing that season’s best fruits and veggies. The jam packed book is so much more than a cookbook. Mi Ae Lipe has outlined how to pick, store and prepare your favorite veggies.

Friday Favorites Spring Edition

I recently stumbled on a whole chapter just on mushrooms! She explains the tastes of different varietals and what kinds of recipes they would be good for. While not strictly a vegetarian cookbook, the Bounty From The Box, is heavily built on recipes that make veggies the star. It’s a fabulous resource for any amateur or seasoned chef. I am still exploring the book and I know I will be referencing it often for ideas. I may be getting one for my mom for mother’s day. For more info please see Mi Ae Lipe’s website here.

Those are just a few of the things I am loving lately. What are your Friday Favorites today?

I love getting fresh flowers to put on the table! It definitely adds something to the room. Anything for your head with a ponytail hole is genius. I love when they do that for running hats.

      Yes it’s genius indeed!

We are starting our CSA soon and I”m so pumped! I’m obsessed with spring. I just wish I could bathe in it. Though it would be nice to get a little closer to summer so that we don’t still have some obnoxiously cold nights! Happy weekend, Deborah!

Lots of fun favorites! My favorites are the sandals;-) Do they come in hot pink? The cookbook looks nice, too…I love that it’s organized by season, how practical!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 7:32 am

The cookbook is great and I look forward to exploring it more. The sandals come in a red color not really pink check them out

I love the new sandals! Maybe you need a pair in red 🙂 I saw those cookies yesterday at the Star Wars expo and wondered if they were any good- but then how can a cookie be bad? I love looking at cookbooks – that looks like a good one- nice spring favorites for sure! TGIF!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 7:33 am

The cookies were better than I expected! The cookbook is a fabulous resource

I love the color for your new bike helmet!
I have horrible seasonal allergies, but I always appreciate flowers because they are so pretty to me, especially tulips.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 7:39 am

I have had a hard time w the tree pollen this week but fresh flowers do not bother me at all. I love having them around

  8. Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says

    04/21/2017 at 7:23 am

The stroopwafels are relatively new. While I have been loving my Honeystinger for a long time (same thing — and it really originates in Europe)! Sorry, just had to put in a plug for my fav. 🙂

I buy myself flowers occasionally, but not all the time. I would really like someone to just set them up (prettily) and change the water and so on & so forth for me.

My husband does try to arrange them, sometimes, when he buys them for me, but he is in too much of a rush to try to create different heights, etc.

Lately I’ve really gotten into table runners. You can get lovely ones (cheap) at Target.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 7:41 am

I do like the honey stinger waffles as well. These did not taste as sweet and I like the flavor combos. I forgot about fun table runners I need to dig those out

  9. Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says

    04/21/2017 at 7:30 am

Those sandals! I must have them. How do you stop at just one color, tho?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 7:42 am

Now that I have one pair I really want another pair! I can’t decide if I should go with another color or get black. Dilemmas! 🙂

That helmet with the ponytail space – GENIUS!

That is a very pretty pedicure! I think it’s time I treat myself to a manicure/pedicure, because with these warm temperatures, my toes are getting a lot more exposure…HA! Have a beautiful weekend!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 12:19 pm

      I completely agree!

  12. Debbie @ Coach Debbie Runs says

    04/21/2017 at 8:15 am

So much good stuff! I definitely need a new pair of sandals! One of the hazards of so many dogs is that footwear has a tendency to occasionally get chewed up. 😏

I’d say that the helmet with a pony port was brilliant, but actually it just seems like it’s about time. Like the manufacturers finally realized that there are a lot of women out there cycling!

I’m definitely interested in those Stroopwafels! Did you happen to notice if they’re vegan as well? A lot of Gu projects are.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2017 at 12:25 pm

The waffles say “may contain egg, milk and soy” so not sure how strict you are about that

      • Debbie @ Coach Debbie Runs says

        04/21/2017 at 12:41 pm

Thanks. That’s usually just a CYA for people with allergies, so I should be good!

        • Deborah Brooks says

          04/21/2017 at 7:52 pm

Ok just double check the different flavors!

  14. Marcia says

    04/21/2017 at 8:41 am

OMG those sandals are gorgeous! I’ve been wearing a low pony under my helmet and it basically sucks. I need a new helmet so I’ll look for this! Love that you’re enjoying the fresh flowers! Me too! So uplifting. Have a great weekend!

I have started looking at sandals for the summer. I’m still living in my running shoes until my race, and then I’ll get the sandals out. It’ll be close enough to summer by then.

I’ve used the honey stinger waffles in the past but haven’t tried the GU version yet. I love that they are a little different than traditional fueling options though! They’re fun for variety. (Also, sometimes I put frosting between graham crackers and pack that for bike fuel, lol.)

    • Deborah Brooks says
