Hello December! Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down today. Well, Hello December! Not sure I was ready for you but here you are. So, let’s make the most of this last month of the year shall we. It was another busy one this week especially with Hanukkah starting so early. Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fun.

weekly run down

Hello December!

Monday- lower + upper body strength + core + 45 m Turkey Burn Peloton

Tough Monday post Thanksgiving. I got a late start to my workouts but got them done. Extra coffee in hand! Spent the afternoon getting the rest of my Thanksgiving glasses and decor put away.

Tuesday- 6 mile run + stretch

We had our first flurries of the season this morning! Cold temps and some wind had me and the squad picking up our pace to get it done.

Wednesday- Heavy lower body strength + upper body + core + Peloton cycle

I loved my lower body strength workout today! Heavy weights and all one-legged moves are just the way I like it.

Switched out my sneakers for some heels tonight and joined my husband for an event at the Japanese Embassy downtown. My photo does not do it justice but there was a beautiful tea room with a lovely garden right behind us. It was fun to go out on the town again.

Thursday- 5 mile run + core + stretch

Cut my run slightly short today due to a Doctor’s appointment. It’s all good! We enjoyed a seasonably warm running day with temps in the upper 50’s.

Friday-core + upper body + Peloton cycle + stretch

Hit my 700th Peloton cycle class today! woo hoo! I did way less cycling this year as I was running more but still managed to complete about 200 classes. The milestones are always fun!

weekly run down

Saturday- Planned rest day

Quick Peloton pajama yoga in Peloton pj’s because why not?!

Sunday- 8-mile Chutzpah Chanukkah Race

So excited for this! Stay tuned for photos.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Congrats on 700 Peloton rides! I didn’t realize when you posted the pj photo on IG that those were Peloton pjs. So you can sleep in them and roll right into a workout? Lol They are cute.

Good luck on your Chutzpah run this morning!

    Heels? Those were the days.

    Congrats on #700. That’s dedication.

A Hanukkah race is so cool. I prefer when both holidays are at the same time.

Another Turkey Burn Ride sister! Those both definitely were “burners!” Such a glam pic of you & the mister 🙂 Eager to hear all about your holiday 8-miler, good luck!

Thanks! Super low key race today but it was lots of fun. A little bit more of a trail terrain but we had a food time

I don’t know which is cuter — the holiday Brooks or the Peloton PJs! Both are awesome.

I hope you are having fun at the race. So sorry I couldn’t do it with you.

Can’t wait to hear about the race- Chutzpah Chanukkah, is that really the name of it? That’s hilarious. Hope it went well.
Love the glamorous dressed up picture! I haven’t worn anything other than running shoes in so long (I can wear them at work.) I don’t think my feet will fit into anything else. Good thing I’m not trying to go to Embassy events- I would probably be kicked out.
Sounds like you had a great week!
