I am off to Camp…Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down today. This weekend, I headed off to camp. Camp Run Happy with the Brooks Running team I know I am going to have lots to share about this epic weekend of events so stay tuned. Right now, let’s take a peek into my week of fitness and fun.

weekly run down

I am off to camp

Monday- Peloton cycle + upper + lower body strength + barre and core

I do love to start the week off strong and hit all the classes. My shoulder has been a little sore the last few weeks so I went a little lighter on the upper body weights. I cannot get enough of those heavy deadlifts though.

Tuesday- 5.5 mile run + barre + stretch

Our humidity is edging back up but I won’t complain (well, maybe just a little). I got my tempo run done on pace for the first time in weeks. I will take it!

off to camp

Wednesday- barre + core + upper + lower body strength + stretch

I got in a good solid strength and core workout today. We were gifted with a cooler day so I took a walk instead of a cycle class.

Thursday- 6 ish mile run + stretch + barre

It was a gorgeous morning for August around here with lower humidity and a beautiful little breeze. It made for a pretty solid run. I tried to go a little longer because I knew I would be away this weekend and was not sure of my mileage.

off to camp

Friday- Travel to Park City, Utah ( 3 miles of airport walking)

It was kind of an all-day travel affair. I flew to Chicago and switched planes and then went on to Salt Lake City. I was a little delayed but finally got to the hotel around 5 pm. We had a fun meet and greet dinner and live band.

I am roomies with Wendy and we had a blast catching up on everything.

off to camp

Saturday- 5-mile trail run/hike

We had an early. run/hike in Park City with the whole Run Happy Team. Hello, elevation! We spent the afternoon doing a group Tik Tok to be aired in the future. We spent the afternoon walking around town and shopping.

off to camp

Dinner was at a fun local brewery with the whole team with a vintage aprés ski theme.

Sunday- morning yoga session and fly home.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend with lots of travel and lots of laughs.

Stay tuned for a full recap on Wednesday! It sure was fun to return to camp days.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.
