January 2026 Runfessions and Confessions

Oh January 2026! This month felt so long and so cold. Alas, it’s the last Friday of the month and the perfect time to share a few runfessions and confessions. Thanks to Marcia for hosting.

January 2026 Runfessions and Confessions

I runfess and Confess…

It was tough being stuck in the house all week with the bitter cold temps and snow and ice. Midwest friends you have my renewed respect for dealing with these types of conditions on a more regular basis. We are not used to temps in the teens and single digits lasting for this long. I runfess and confess, I am not a fan. It’s hard not to be able to get outside for walks and fresh air.

Runfessions

I Runfess and Confess…

One of my goals of this year is to purge some unnecessary and no longer needed things from my life. I took advantage of said winter weather and did a huge donation of clothes and items. I listed a bunch of unworn and newer clothes on Poshmark and donated a number of bags to charity. I further runfess and confess, I am appalled at myself for having so many items with tags still on them! I made a lot of progress though so there’s that.

That’s about all I’ve got for January 2026 Runfessions and confessions today! See you next week for the January Ultimate Coffee Date. Stay Warm!

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

That’s a great way to utilize all that time inside! Although we’re used to Arctic temps, they seldom stick around for such an extended period. No snow or ice here, but we’ve had the extreme temps. Have I ever mentioned that winter is my 4th favorite season?

Ha yes I understand why! We rarely have these temps stick around for this long and it feels like we still have a while to go

I just did a big closet purge as well – gotta do something with all this indoor time, right? I probably still have more to go, but it’s a start.

This weather has just been so harsh – stay warm!

I did a purge with shoes but now I need to go through my clothes… I doubt I have any with tags but I have too many items that I will never wear.

    This winter has been rough.

I’ve been much better about not buying things I don’t need. Not perfect, but I spent a lot of time last year being so much more selective about purchases. It stuck.

Ha ha… I like the Alaska meme.
I’m surprised you didn’t find any hidden gems while you were decluttering! Whenever I do that I’m always happy that ai end up with a “new” pair of pants or something. Well- sounds like you used your indoor time wisely!

I think I probably wear my most favorite things and the others just got stuck in the closer. I’m going to to try to do better!

I love that Alaska meme! I am so over these frigid temperatures.

That was a really good use of your indoor time. I’m trying to chip away at my “stuff” and finally parted with old ATM shirts. I saved a few but didn’t all of them.

    Stay warm!

I pretty much got rid of of most of the race shirts bc I never wear them anyway. I’m pretty tired of the icy streets!

I’ll agree with you that the extreme weather has gone on for far too long. It’s been very tough to get outside for sure. Nice job decluttering!
