Have you ever stood in the grocery aisle with overwhelming choices of granola and still not be able to find just the right one? Me too. In my quest to reduce processed foods and added sugars from my diet, foods like granola can be hard to come by. It’s surprisingly easy to make your own homemade version.
Healthier Homemade Granola in 5 min
Many of my favorite homemade recipes are inspiration from other published recipes. It’s easy to swap ingredients and amounts to fit your own nutritional needs. This easy, 5 min prep granola came from Eleven Madison Park with a number of tweaks.
I significantly cut the added sugar amounts. Yes, ingredients like honey, agave, and maple syrup are indeed sugar.I also added vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. How can you leave out those key ingredients? I’ve also swapped out coconut chips and added dark chocolate chips. Coconut is full of saturated fat and lots of calories.
Here’s my take on an easy, delicious vanilla cinnamon granola to enjoy on your favorite yogurt or alone. Let me know what you think! Check out some of my other homemade, healthy meals.

This looks yummy and easy to make. My husband loves granola (though I doubt that he’d actually make it himself 🙂 ).
It is so easy!
This sounds great. I love the addition of the sour cherries.
I was surprised that they worked so well here
