Let’s face it-the holidays are stressful! Even for the most organized and disciplined of us, things can get crazy this month. I’ve come up with a few simple ways to survive the holidays with my health and well survival tips. Hope they help you finish the year strong.

Holiday Health and Wellness Survival Guide
5 of my best survival tips! Hope they help make it through the next few weeks.
Keep up the frequency of your movement above all else
The discipline of having a set exercise routine is your secret weapon. Above all else keep up the frequency of your workouts. If you are time crunched, modify the intensity and or distance/duration of your sessions. This flex keeps you on your set schedule that has worked for you all year and will continue to work come January.

Prioritize sleep
A good night’s sleep is your super power for surviving holiday stress and keeping your energy up and cortisol levels down. PS this one move might also help you stay ahead of dreaded colds or other illnesses.

Strategic Snacking
My number one rule on holiday parties is never go hungry! Always have a high protein healthy snack before heading out to an event. This helps to prevent over eating and allows you to strategically snack. Another tip: offer to bring a healthy dish!
Hydrate
Keeping up your hydration during the holiday season is another key to success. This also helps to prevent over eating (and drinking). If you do plan to drink, have a glass of water first. Sparkling water with a splash of cranberry feels like a cocktail without the effects.

Cut Yourself some slack and enjoy the season
Ditch the perfectionism and enjoy celebrating the season with your loved ones. What you eat and how much you exercise matters much less between Thanksgiving and Christmas as it does between Christmas and Thanksgiving. It’s the long term habits that keep us healthy and thriving.
Happy Holidays!

These are solid tips, Deborah! The reminder to keep the frequency of movement, even if everything else gets dialled back, is so important. Same with sleep being the real superpower. It makes a huge difference to my mood if I get a good night’s sleep!
same for me!
This time of year can definitely be stressful. Keeping up with workouts always makes me feel better!
