May 2023 Runfessions

Runfessions and Confessions May 2023

I confess and runfess…

No one was more surprised than I was to take a bite into my “veggie dumplings” at a trendy Chicago spot only to discover that they were in fact pork dumplings. Having been a vegetarian since I was 12, I don’t even know what meat tastes like but I knew that no veggies tasted like that! There was a time that I would have made somewhat of a scene upon a discovery of this magnitude. I am trying not to sweat the small stuff these days. They were very apologetic and did bring me my steamed veggie dumplings very quickly.

I confess and Runfess…

I’ve been a little obsessed with jumpsuits this spring. They are so comfy, great for travel, and perfect for summer. I’ve jumped on the trend with a few fun ones. In case you are interested I’ve grabbed this one and this one and this shorts jumper. Are you jumping on the jumpsuit trend?

I Runfess and Confess…

I am always on the search for the perfect yogurt. When I say perfect, I mean high protein lowest sugar possible. When I was at the Restaurant Association show in Chicago last weekend, I discovered what I believe might be the winner. This Icelandic yogurt was so good, 17 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar. Hello everything I have been looking for! It’s so good. If you are looking for something similar, check out Thor’s Skyr.

That’s all I’ve got for you today! What do you have to Runfess or Confess today? See you next week for the Ultimate Coffee Date link up!

I don’t think I look good in jumpsuits, but I’ll look for that yogurt! My chobani has a lot of added sugar …

Chobani does have a lot sugar!

I just bought my first jumpsuit and wore it in Florida… LOVED it and now I want to buy more… the problem is finding times to wear them… work, run, work.

I confess I don’t pay attention to ingredients when I eat yogurt. I just want it to taste GOOD. I eat oui.

they are so comfy I love them! The Oui has a ton of sugar so aI am sure it does taste amazing 🙂

I’m passing on the jumpsuits. With my tall body, I have problems with the fit (long torso). I fell in love with a cute romper a couple summers ago, and it was a no-go in the dressing room, LOL. That new yogurt sounds perfect!

funny, I would think the jumpsuits would look fab on you. I have to get them all shortened!

Unfortunately I’ve never seen Thor’s Skyr. I also look for the least sugar in Yogurt — I go with Siggis & Icelandic. Normally I wait for warmer weather to eat Yogurt, but I’ve been eating a lot since I was on antibiotics!

I have never been particularly fond of jumpsuits actually. Especially for travel! Just so awkward in the bathroom.

If you see this yogurt, it’s worth a try for sure!

EW. I’ve had that happen to me with Chipotle. I’ll be happily eating my tofu sofritas bowl and…. WHAT IS THAT. I haven’t eaten meat in about 40 years but yes, you know something’s not right! With Chipotle, it’s just a matter of one little piece of meat getting mixed in with something else. Yuck.
I’m pretty sure I would look ridiculous in a jumpsuit, but I can see how you would look great.

Ha yes sometimes random meat products contaminate our foods! I am totally sure you can pull off a jumpsuit! You just need the right one

Those pork dumplings must’ve been quite the shock! I’ll have to look for that yogurt. I’m using Siggi’s plain right now.

Yes, take a look for it you might like it!

I bought a couple of short jumpsuits/rompers (whatever LOL) last summer and I “live” in them. They’re so comfortable! The ones you picked out look great!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/26/2023 at 6:54 pm

They are so comfy I think I will be sporting them often as well

  8. Wendy says

    05/26/2023 at 6:10 pm

That a restaurant ‘accidentally’ served you meat dumplings is really inexcusable! I hope they didn’t charge you for your meal!

Not a jumpsuit person. I don’t even want to think about the gymnastics involved in having to go to the bathroom!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/26/2023 at 6:59 pm

I have been wearing them constantly and to travel. You do not know what you are missing! So comfy

I am not vegetarian but I don’t eat meat to respect the animals.
    That yogurt looks delicious

      05/27/2023 at 8:53 am

It is very delicious! Is it hard not to eat meat in Italy?

      • Black Knight says

        05/27/2023 at 9:29 am

        Yes, it’s very very hard.

        • Deborah Brooks says

          05/27/2023 at 11:15 am

I find it much harder when we travel to Europe

Always on the quest for a better yogurt. Siggi’s is my current go to but I will be on the lookout for Thor’s.
