December 2021 Ultimate Coffee Date

December Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I have been doing a few projects this past month that I will be sharing details about soon. One is beta testing a new feature for the Peloton bike called Lanebreak. It would describe it as a cross between a pinball game and a video game. You essentially pedal and try to acquire points for hitting a certain speed and resistance goal. While I really liked the music playlists, I missed the interaction with the instructors and realize how much motivation I get from them. I can see how this might be popular with some but I don’t see myself ever using this feature. I do appreciate that Peloton is always working on new features and that they reach out to long-time users for feedback. Here is a video if you interested in what it looks like.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am excited to run my first official Hanukkah race this Sunday. It is an 8-mile race so automatic PR. I have done so many Christmas-themed races and it’s about time somebody threw a Hanukkah party! I am expecting a small but fast group of runners out there. The awards ceremony is scheduled to start 70 minutes after the start. Since I do not run an 8-minute mile, I will still be running when that happens. LOL. I have not figured out my whole outfit yet, but here is a sneak peek at my super cute tights, If you are looking for a fun holiday pair, check out all the cute ones here.

December Ultimate Coffee date

Stocking Stuffer Alert! Every winter despite my dedicated skincare routine, my skin gets so dry. I told you last month about my new finds over at Uncle Bud’s. I am still loving that CBD cream for my lower back. (see my review here) I am also now loving these hydrating face masks. They come in packs of 5 for one time use. Just pop one open and smooth it onto your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse. I like to apply mine before hopping into the shower. The steam of the shower is a nice feeling. Simply rinse off and moisturize as usual. They are a nice little treat for your skin any day of the week. Great for stocking stuffers. Use code VIP25 for 25% off anything on the site. I’d love to hear your tips for winter dry skin too!

I cannot believe our next Coffee Date is in 2022! I am sure we will have lots to catch up on then too. If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

Okay, those face masks totally grabbed my attention! I have horribly dry skin, and these sound like a great treatment. I love those Hanukkah tights! They’re every bit as cute as you described (you know, when we were on our quest for hot chocolate a few weeks ago). Good luck on Sunday!

I know I have been waiting to wear them for a month! The face masks are really nice. My skin has been so dry as well. Let me know if you give them a try

How fun that you’ve found a Hanukkah race to run and those tights are great! Wow, that’s wild that the awards ceremony is so soon after the race and while many people are still running. Are they not doing age group awards? Have fun and good luck!

My skin is so dry, too, but I’m terrible about doing doing masks, etc…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:14 am

I have no idea what kind of awards they are doing. I do know it’s a small race. I will let you know 🙂 My skin has been so dry the past few weeks I am looking for new solutions

I’m going to sound sexist when I say the new Peloton beta seems like a guy would enjoy it. Love the Hanukkah tights! Have so much fun at your race!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:20 am

Perhaps they were looking for something to get more men involved I am not sure. The few times and I mean 3 that my husband tried the bike, he preferred to do the scenic rides without the instructors.

  4. Wendy says

    12/03/2021 at 6:53 am

Hey hey hey there, Marcia! I think I’d like that Peloton lanebreak feature, lol!

Good luck at your Hanukkah race–I don’t think we have anything like that here. Looks like you are ready with the tights! I wonder if there are any menorah hats or headgear?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:23 am

I looked around for hats but could not find one I liked. I do hear there are Menorah race shirts so we shall see how that goes!

Leave it to you to always find the cutest tights 🙂 It is about time there was a Hanukkah-themed race – Have fun!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:27 am

I am excited to run it! You know I do love my tights 🙂

  6. Darlene says

    12/03/2021 at 7:06 am

Yes. What about Hanukkah races. None here. I even looked for a virtual one.

But I do celebrate both holidays.

You do have the cutest tights.

That game does doing fun. I agree that the music and instructors are the motivators. I miss it.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:30 am

I know the world needs more Hanukkah races! I am excited to finally be running one

  7. Coco says

    12/03/2021 at 8:17 am

I think Lanebreak could appeal to gamers, and everyone who doesn’t like the chatter of instructors. I see how it could trick you into getting a good workout, if you’re focusing on the “game” and not thinking about how hard you’re working. They need to up their game with the graphics in the full version. 😉

I’m so bummed I can’t do the 8M this weekend. Your tights are on point!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 8:31 am

Yes, I can see how some riders will like the idea of the lanebreak but I personally love the instructors. Would you try it when it comes out? Yes, excited for the Hanukkah race.

  8. Jenny says

    12/03/2021 at 8:42 am

That is very cool you’re running a Hanukkah race! Why aren’t there more of those? Love the tights- good luck with it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 9:16 am

I have no idea but I am excited! 🙂

  9. Kim G says

    12/03/2021 at 10:21 am

Lanebreak sounds interesting! Like you, I get a lot of motivation from the instructors so I’m not sure if I would use the feature.

Love that you’re doing Hanukkah themed race! Hopefully this will encourage more race organizers to offer Hanukkah races. I’ve never understood why there weren’t any.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 4:19 pm

I do hope there will be more Hanukkah races in the future. Should be fun and low key. We will have to chat about lanebreak once you have a chance to try it out

  10. Black Knight says

    12/03/2021 at 11:21 am

Good luck on Sunday. In my opinion the no crowded races are the best, for this reason I don’t like to race in Rome.
I have never heard about Hanukkah races in Italy.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 4:22 pm

I do like the smaller races sometimes too!

  11. Chocolaterunsjudy says

    12/03/2021 at 11:41 am

The attraction of Peloton for me is definitely the motivating things the instructors say!

An 8 mile Hannukah race sounds fun, but boo on doing the awards while most will still be running. I’ve “run into” that before & it’s kind of demoralizing.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/03/2021 at 4:22 pm

Yes, I am also motivated by the instructors so not sure I would use the other platform. I am sure it will be a fun race and very low key

  12. Denise says

    12/04/2021 at 5:29 pm

I’m all about those hydrating face masks.
Great tights. I don’t have any holiday races planned. Good luck!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/04/2021 at 8:34 pm

      thanks!

  13. Cari says

    12/05/2021 at 4:27 pm

You’re like the Queen of fun tights. Hope the race was fun!
mm. Masks. Love them. Will look into these although I just got a tea tree/peppermint one I love too. I wish they’d make a leg mask as my shins are insanely dry, and not just the windburned part between tights and socks

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/05/2021 at 4:47 pm

Ooh wonder if you could use them on your legs too!? Great idea

  14. Zenaida Arroyo says

    12/05/2021 at 6:09 pm

I hope you had a great race today! Those tights are very cute. That new Peloton feature looks interesting though not sure if I would like it. I also like the motivations from the instructors. Sometimes they do annoy me with all of the talking but they are still motivating.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/05/2021 at 7:59 pm

Yes, they are really motivating and the reason why I like the platform so much

  15. Farrah says

    12/07/2021 at 5:38 pm

Ooo, this kinda sounds like something I’d be interested in if I had a Peloton. (I do like interacting with instructors as well so a mix would be cool!)

I tend to break out all the face masks this time of year too–my skin gets so dry!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      12/07/2021 at 6:19 pm

My skin is so dry looking for solutions!
